You've heard that the cabbage soup diet can help you drop 7-10 pounds in just 7 days. On the first day you can eat all the cabbage soup and fruits that you want, but no bananas allowed. Banana is excluding in this diet plan because they are full of fructose (fruit sugar) like all fruits, they are also starchy vegetables, which makes them higher than most in carbohydrates. But banana is basically a perfect healthy diet desserts at only 110 calories.

For all banana lovers, I want to share our traditional banana-based dessert. We called it 'lepat pisang' here which directly translate in English as steam banana parcel. :D

'Lepat pisang' is best served during breakfast or tea.
Ingredients for 'lepat pisang' or steam banana parcels

  • 700 g bananas, peeled and mashed (make sure the banana is really ripe)

  1. That looks yummy! Have you ever substituted the sugar for splenda? I am curious how that would come out.

    1. I never tried splenda.I'd like to try sugar substitute too. But actually if you choose not to use sugar, the taste is still okay because banana is naturally sweet. Thanks for stopping by, Chris.
