Tasteful Tuesday: Juicing With a Blender

Beyonce lost 20 lbs in 10 days on lemon juice diet. Gwyneth Paltrow did green juice for 3 days before the Iron Man 2 premier. If eating fresh fruits and vegetables each day isn't practical to you, then juicing them would be a good way to get them into your diet; less chewing and less risk of overeating. Basically when you juicing, the pulp (or fiber) of the vegetable or fruit is separated out from the juice and you'll have a thinner drink that's free of pulp. One of the main reason to eliminate this fiber is to increases the absorption rate of vitamins and minerals into your body. This process gives your digestive system a rest so that the colon does not use energy to digest new foods entering the body, but instead removes the built up foods and toxins that have not previously been absorbed by the body.

Yesterday was an "eat whatever you want" day. Very bad. So today I am glad to be doing the juice fast for the cleansing benefits, and honestly am looking forward to lose weight with this method. I have been on and off for some time and this time I tried to drink juice twice a day, morning and evening and drink water as much as possible throughout the day.

Committedly. For the next 21 days.  Kept my fingers crossed.

If you are on a juice diet, or decide to juice on a regular basis for health purpose, having a quality juicer would be a great investment. My juicer broke, and I never had a juicer since that because I don't have a budget for one yet. But I found out on YouTube that you can make fruit or vegetable juice with a blender and nut milk cloth.

5 easy steps to juicing with a blender:

1. Place 1-2 cups of water in the blender to help puree the ingredients.
2. This is fruit and vegetable juice combination you might want to try. Green should be roughly chopped, hard fruits should all be diced.
3. Blend all on high for 30 seconds or so until you have a smoothie-like consistency.
4. After that, put everything through a nut milk bag ( I use nylon mesh cloth, cheese cloth will do)
 5. Strain them to manually remove the fiber.

It's that easy but ultimately very time consuming and messy. The pros, it's cheaper. Let's look at this video to watch step by step in motion.

Be the first to comment!

Salma Hayek is a veteran of the juice diet. Doing juice diet since 15 years ago is her secret for a glowing skin, sexy shape and looking red carpet ready. Juice diet is basically a short-term, says 10 days of raw vegetables, fruit juice and water only. No solid food is consumed during a juice diet. Compared to fruits, vegetables are low in sugar and calories. Therefore, vegetables juice are more preferred for weight loss.

This is another reasons why fruit juice is not recommended if you want to try juice diet to lose weight. More reading material at Mercola.

1. Very high in fructose
Oranges and fresh squeezed orange juice can be a good source of vitamins and other nutrients, but it's also very high in fructose. In fact, one eight-ounce glass of orange juice has about eight full teaspoons of sugar and at least 50 percent of that sugar is fructose. That's almost as much as a can of soda, which contains approximately 10 teaspoons of sugar.

2. Increase risk of Multiple Sclerosis
According to PubMed Health, multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). If fruit is not freshly juiced and stored in containers, the methanol in the juice will dissociate from the pectin and actually increase your risk of M.S.

3. Obesity and related health problems
Fructose has been identified as one of the primary culprits in the meteoric rise of obesity and related health problems. Fruit juices will spike your insulin to a far greater degree than a piece of whole fruit.

There is no solid food consume during juice diet. So, the bowels stop moving since the bowel does not have any fiber to work against. This will result toxins being released into the bloodstream if they can't released from the body. This can be completely avoided simply by taking the intestinal cleansing. Healthy Beautiful Blog recommended GC Cleanse for this purpose.

Day 2 on Juice Diet: 6 Things To Expect When on Fruit Juice Diet

Carrot + Cucumber + Tomato juice

The plan: Eat nothing but fruit juice and water for the whole 10 days.

I found that a vegetable fruit drink made me feel awake and energetic. With vegetable fruit juice diet, my body and tortured organ is given a rest. This diet does not only gives our body a new start, but help to lose weight. A vegetable fruit juice diet consume only raw fruit and vegetable juice and water only. Solid food of any kind is not allowed. Juicing for Health warn about this 6 symptom you may experience during vegetable fruit juice diet.

Time for juice!

1. Aches and pains
Elimination of toxins can cause tightness in some parts of the body resulting in aches and pains. During a long fast, some people are temporarily freed from arthritis and other constant pains that they normally experience. Headaches or stomachaches may be withdrawal symptoms from salt, sugar or caffeine.

2. Hunger pangs
Hunger pangs are worst-felt during the first three days of a fast. An water enema can help to quickly reduce hunger pangs and get you into a fasting state, as it ends the digestion in the colon. Once you get through the first three days, you will be surprised that the hunger pangs just disappear and you can continue with a prolonged fast rather easily.

3. Weakness
Your stamina takes a dip when you are fasting. The lack of energy also means that your body is not burning fuel to keep your body warm. During this time, it is normal to feel cold most of the time. Keep warm by wearing some warm under-garments. Sleepiness is also commonplace, so take your time to sleep in and rest.

4. Bowel movement
Diarrhea is common during juice fasting as fruit juices have natural laxative effect. Elimination of mucus or dark stools is normal as these are elimination of toxins. Some people take enemas in the morning to help them ease the bowel. A properly administered colon hydrotherapy will also do much good when juice fasting for a prolonged period.

5. Giddiness or nausea
You may experience some light-headedness or nausea in some cases because of the hunger pangs. During this period, a lie-in might help if you feel faint. Taking about 3000mg to 5000mg vitamin C will help detoxify some of the toxins for relief (don't worry, you won't get overdose on vitamin C). You can also drink a glass of carrot and capsicum juice that will work wonders.

6. Bad breath and body odor
Bad breath is normal during fasting and body odor may also increase. But if the odor gets excessive, add alfalfa juice to your juice fast recipes. A white-coated tongue at the beginning of a fast contributes to bad breath, but is evidence of your body eliminating toxins from the body.
