Inspiration to lose weight
Ruth who famously known as DivaSlimsDown decided to lose weight because of health factor. She is having type 2 Diabetes, and only by exercising and changing her eating habits was the chance for her to prevent it.
Obstacle in losing weight
The hardest part about losing weight, according to Ruth is staying focused. So she made 'stay focused on the task at hand' as her daily goal.
Motivation to lose weight
Documenting her weight loss progress via YouTube videos is the way she kept motivated through her weight loss journey. Check out her videos channels here.
Diet Plan
- Drink tons of water - no sodas anymore.
- Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day.
- Breakfast - Eggs and turkey bacon.
- Snack 1 - any fruit of her choice.
- Lunch - chicken salad.
- Snack 2 - fruit and a 100-calorie pack snack.
- Dinner - Chicken breast with vegetables.
- Snack 3 - almonds or fruit.
Workout Plan
15 minutes of walking 2-3 days a week at the beginning. Her workouts grew longer as she got more endurance. Now she workout 6 days a week for 2-3 hours a day. She split her daily workout schedule: a shorter workout in the morning, usually a workout DVD that less then 30 minutes; and strength training and an hour zumba class for the evening workout.
Weight Loss Plateau
Ruth hits a weight loss plateau many times in her weight loss journey. But she breaking through a plateau by changing up the food or her exercise.
